Flying hospital was a Medical Camp conducted in Hyderabad for almost over a month in 1999. It is the largest free Medical Camp ever conducted in India till today. About 200 medical staff which included Doctors, Nurses and Technicians from the United States of America and European countries participated in it. This was sponsored by Christian Broadcasting Network International (CBN) Dr. Pat Robertson, the founder of CBN international himself came with his wife and son to inaugurate it. Sri. Nara Chandrababu Naidu, the then Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh has officially declared it opened. Mr. Janardan Reddy, the then Health Minister was also present.

Many other political leaders irrespective of their political affiliation have graciously participated in the inaugural meeting. We had the joy of having the greetings brought by Dr. Y. S. Raja sekhar Reddy, the leader of the Congress party in the inaugural meeting. We are grateful to Sri. Nara Chandrababu Naidu who has graciously allotted Public Gardens and Lalithakala Thoranam for constructing temporary air conditioned surgical theatres. He has also given us permission to use one hospital in the old city and one more hospital in Secunderabad run by the government for the post operative treatment of the patients. The cooperation from the local leaders was highly laudable. We thank the Government of India and the Ministry of Aviation for allowing us to keep the Flying Hospital in Begumpet Airport for about a month.

The flight itself has eight surgical theatres inside. About twenty thousand people from all over the country came and received excellent medical treatment. Most of them are very very poor. All the surgeries like polio and reconstruction of the lips for the Orofacial Cleft patients were done. Many people suffering from different kinds of ailments were also done appropriate surgeries. They were also given medicines free of cost. It was attended by the Prince of Belgium and the great grandson of the Lord Mountbaton, the last Governor General of India. They stayed in hotel Grand Kakatiya. We also stayed there over a month. We praise God for using Rev. Scott Norling and me in this largest Medical Campaign ever conducted in India which helped the restoration of thousands and thousands of patients from all over the country irrespective of their religious faiths and social identities.
