Church Planting

In a country like India where people are emotionally attached to a central place of worship, there is a great need for a place of common worship accessible to all communities. The pluralist aspect of Indian society with diverse caste, sub-caste and socio-economic backgrounds, a central place of worship is indispensable.

The concept of church building in the present day Indian context can offer the worshipers not only a place for their prayers and worship, but it can also provide shelter to many community development projects like occasional free medical camps, adult education, special training for women in handicrafts and seminars on issues like social awareness, health and hygiene and family savings. This perspective of a church being used to promote the holistic development of human beings and the society they live in, seems to be an integral part of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

There are many incidents in India where the churches built upon the sea shores stood like mighty fortress of God giving shelter to thousands of victims of cyclones and tidal waves.

Today Gospel Mission of India has built many churches across India. And still there are numerous appeals made to Gospel Mission of India from different corners of the State of Andhra Pradesh and other States in India from groups of people who are in a desperate need of a simple place of worship. Gospel Mission of India seeks the help of Christian organizations and missions to partner with the organization and help the construction of the prayer halls, which would help the poor in the villages to have a place of worship as well as a place that would shelter their community development projects. A donation of 6000 dollars will build 18ft X 36ft building where many will meet to worship God and learn His Word.
